Chester Arts Fair introduce Stoneface.

Andrew Vickers’s interest in creating art from stone began around twenty five years ago. As a dry stone Waller he began to notice that walls were being erected with no trace left behind to identify the Waller responsible. He therefore decided to be the first to leave his mark on the walls he built, so that in years to come people would recognise his work. This is where the idea came from to place small stone faces he carved, from the waling stone, into the walls themselves. That’s where Stoneface was born.
After discovering that he could take images from his mind and create them in stone he began striving to create more, using bigger pieces of stone on more intricate projects.
His passion to create art grew and with it so did Stoneface. Creating art for a range of clientele from rock stars to politicians, his love for what he does constantly grows stronger.
Chester Arts Fair will be showcasing Andrew’s work at the event and will be on hand to introduce you to their fair which takes place this year on November 17-19. For more details

Exhibitors Gather at Arley Hall

Simply Cheshire Exhibitors at Arley Hall

On a beautiful Spring morning over half of our exhibitors gathered in the sunshine at Arley Hall for a photoshoot to promote this years’ event. It was a wonderful opportunity for exhibitors from different parts of the County to meet each other, many for the first time, and to have a look at the venue in readiness for May. With each of the exhibitors bringing a piece of their work with them we had everything ranging from amazing pieces of art to tailored jackets, spice tins to a string of sausages. It was a fantastic prelude to what promises to be a fabulous day on May 20th and 21st. Many thanks to Matt Priestley for takingg the photos

Say Hello to Birdie!

Our latest edition to Simply Cheshire is the fabulous Birdie. A 1978 marshmallow pink VW Camper van that has been lovingly restored and has a new life as a travelling photo booth. Birdie will be parked up outside Arley Hall and a donation from any photos taken will be going to the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.

Jam and Jelly invite you to the party!

We are delighted that Jam and Jelly, one of Cheshire leading childrens party planners, will be bringing their beautiful belle tent along to Simply Cheshire this May. For any tired little people this will be a great stopping off point to take a break from shopping and have fun with the range of craft activities on offer and maybe even have your face painted whilst you’re there.

Simply Cheshire to support The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust

Tbobby-clr-www-002he Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) is a rather special charity based in  the Cheshire countryside and a few weeks ago I was given the opportunity to have a tour of their inspirational site.

CAFT is based around a beautiful 17th century farmhouse which has been converted to provide amazing holiday accommodation and activities for children who are disadvantaged by illness, disability or poverty.  I was overwhelmed by the dedication of the staff and volunteers whose sole aim is to offer support and a ray of sunshine to children and families who desperately need a break.

Simply Cheshire will be supporting CAFT by donating a percentage of ticket sales to the charity and by highlighting the fantastic work this charity does.
